Founded in 1992 by former Vio-lence guitarist Robert Flynn and Adam Duce. The first song on their debut album, "Davidian", features the lyrics "Let freedom ring / with a shotgun blast". Subsequently the video was banned from MTV due to its release date being very soon after the Waco Siege which it was apparently describing. Robb Flynn has since said that the song "Davidian" was not written about the Waco Siege but added that line to get people thinking. After their debut album Burn My Eyes (1994) Chris Kontos left to work with Testament and a stand in drummer was used for Machine Head's Donington slot in 1995.

From This Day Lyrics

Machine Head

You gotta
Stand tall and cut away the ties
Drop walls and hold that head high
The world is fast and youth aint gonna wait
So grab a hold before it gets too late
Bare your soul and strip away the cold
Of withered life that past so grey and old
Cause all the pain thats filled these eyes you see
Has only made them bleed just recently
Tears that made me
Ashamed to be me
But that gave me strength to see me
Made a spark that
Let the dark and let me shine
Time to see, believe this in me
This pain that I feel deep inside
Cause its time we come together
Be on because Im about it now
So do it now or never
I fall asleep to freeways far from here
Spend half the night just drinking beer
From this day on shall be the words
My flesh and bone shall make it heard
Dont you test Ill have to mess with you
Do my best so fuck the rest of you
One of these days youll see Ive always been right
Time to see, believe this in me
This pain that I feel deep inside
And it makes me glad
When I see the sun
And makes me sad
When you fell on my one
And I thank my god
Got a girl like you
And I think my god
Did you save me
Time to see, believe this in me
This pain that I feel deep inside
